Why I Rebuilt My Portfolio with Next.js and Tailwind
Migrating Syfernetics.com from static HTML to a modern Next.js stack: the why, the how, and the results.
Problem
My old static portfolio was difficult to scale, lacked SEO optimization, and didn't reflect the work I do in AI and cybersecurity.
Approach
I migrated to Next.js 14 with TailwindCSS, TypeScript, and Vercel hosting. Added:
- Glassmorphism design
- Responsive layouts
- Canvas animations (cyber node grid, matrix rain intro)
- SEO meta structures
Results
Load times improved 40%. Mobile support became seamless. Now I can easily add projects and blog posts as the portfolio grows.
